The Power of Blogging or shall I say The Power of Cbox
Yesterday we had another round of ayam golek at Ayam Golek 5 Bintang in Kampung Kerinchi. This time around we celebrating 3*th Elf birthday. The birthday celebration was supposedly on Wednesday night but since many people were trapped in the massive traffic jam, they change the date to yesterday.
When I told my friends (that always go out for lunch together) that I am going out to ayam golek to celebrate a birthday someone I knew from blogspere, they were surprised that we can be as close as really good friend. They thought by having blogging you just throw your opinion or whatever story you wanna tell and that just that. You will not know other people and you just know them only by their nick.
I said, we certainly different. Not only that we merely friend, we become really close friend. We even share feeling and difficulties something that we not discussing amongst our good friends in the offices, nieghbourhood and what not. The bond that we created is special.
I read this one blog who happened to have vacation from her thousands mile away 'home' with her lovely wedded husband and came home in Malaysia only to find that only her brother in law acknowledged her balik kampung. Her good friends who just walking distance from her hotel could not manage to care about her visit in Kuala Lumpur. I reckoned she must be frustrated that her visit turned like that.
Nevertheles her visit with her sis-in-law is different this time around. Upon knowing that she is in Kuala Lumpur, some friends from the tag met her. She is one of the famous makcik blogger that lives abroad and many friends want to meet her. Friend from Kelana Jaya, one from Cyberjaya, Ampang and of course Arc from Jalan Yap Kwan Seng visited her at hotel. Well this friends certainly not within walking distance from her hotel and I can see from the picture Arc snapped, she is very delightfull with this courtesy visit. I believe deep in her heart she can sees the values we shared as a friend in the blogsphere and in Joe's Tag.
This is the power of blogging and tag that we have. I am proud knowing you friends.
To AM send my salam to UB
OK la nak gi jumpa supervisor aku kat UPM pulak. Nanti sembang cite lain pulak

Neighbours, Friends and Job Hoping
Its been very busy laletly. My third semester class had already started last Wednesday and a lot of visitors came to my office for many reasons that are not pleasant to think off. Malas nak fikir.
A lot of story I want to write and I just afraid that I do not have the luxury to write everything here. Maybe I just sum up every story in this entry.
To start off, I begin with Hari Keluarga dan Kenduri Akikah for all neighbours along my famous street. The event took place the same date with the camping in PD organized by Alangz and DQ Delinn. Friends of Joe's tag asked us to follow but we are sorry we just can't follow them.
To me, friend still friend and neighbours is something more special then friend. Not only that they are neighbour, they also become our friends and what most important they are our family too. I always stressed to Arc that neighbour is our closest immediate family. We still very lucky because our mom and dad and other siblings live near us. Although our families are near, I still believe neighbours are the one who respond almost immediately to the calamity we faces.
I am glad that my view also being shared by most of the neighbour in my street. One, infact told a story about their experienced during the kenduri welcoming speech. When we were just new 3 years back in our lovely neighbour hood, we hardly known each other very well. Maybe Allah loves us HE showed us where the temporary surau shall be and it happened to be my next door. I am blessed with that so do ourneighbour and we became very close each days pass by. One day, his wife miscarriaged and in grieved he lost idea what shall he do next. Upon getting the news that he just lost a baby, we visited him at the hospital and asked him not to worry because we will make all the preparation . Until today, he did not knows who made everything run so smoothly to bury his son and he just knows that the neighbours did everything for him.
Another story has not been shared during the kenduri but we knew the story. Our front doors neighbour is expected to deliver a baby within a forthnight and with Allah will, she deliver the baby as early as 7.00am. Neither she nor her husband ready to have a baby that morning. When they are not ready and when water bag has leaked and the wife in pain, the husband cannot do anything much except to seek help from the doctor in our street for help. Mind you, she is not a gynae, she just a GP and during that time she is pursuing her study to become specialist for an area that I do not know. But something is great. Knowing that the couple in need her favour she has not mentioned to the couple that she needs to hurry to the hospital because she has examination to conclude her Master Studies that morning. She became an adhoc midwife and recieved the baby. Only after everything is settle then only she told the couple she need to hurry to the hospital to sit examinations. Allah really test her and the spirit of neighbour hood in our street and alhamdulillah my neighbour has been very fantastic to all of us. A lot of great things happened in our neighbour hood and all have been settle in a good spirit.
I know, if I leave this world before Arc, my neighbours will take care of my family well being. That is why I put nieghbour first before everythings else.
And friends of Joe's Tag, you still special in our heart. If you want to have another camping just let us knows because we know that it can be more merrier. I play guitar and we sing around the fire like all the boys scout and girls guide always do. Baru la kelas. Apa la kelas bakar surat khabar terbang hehehehehehehehehehe.
Many people knows that I am looking for a new challenge with my works that I started to scout around for jobs in Oil and Gas Company. What I asked are for Safety and Environmental consultant. I send an application To Shell Global Services thru JobsDB and they have excluded me from the shortlisted name for interview. Bukan rezeki aku la utk ke Shell.
Last Saturday, my faculty invited personel from Petronas to give lecture on Environmental Problem and Challenges in the Exploration and Production of Oil and Gas. I took that oppurtunity to understand their challenges and how they overcome the problem. And most important is I want to understand the workforce they have to overcome the problem. After the lecture, I approached him and asked question about safety and environment in petronas, the problem they face in sustaining the development, how they making sure that when the abondoning the well, the hole will not impair the living things under the deep sea and what not.
I informed him that I am interested to work with Petronas and had my resume banked in, in the dicoverypetronas. He asked what position I asked for and I replied EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Consultant. He adviced me to correct my application to any of one because he mentioned that he need a specialised people for specialised job. So I am kind of in dilemma because my Master Programme in Environmental Engineering will only finish May next year and I am not sure if they could except me for Environmental Consultant while I am still continuing my study in Env. Eng. If I asked for Safety Consultant, I do not have a green card to be called as competence Safety Consultant. Although I am a section head of Safety, I have the knowledge on safety and management of safety, I am afraid they will not pick me because of that green card. So what position shall I ask for? This has really disturb my mind.
On the other hand I have also applied for a post in ASTRO. I knew the Sr. Manager of that department as we have met several time for power quality issues with Tenaga Nasional. I had send my resume online and now I am planning to send hardcopy directly to him so that he knows someone that he knew is apllying for the job. Other than this, my friend reccomend me to work with Suruhanjaya Pengurusan Air Negara (SPAN). I have worked with GLC and I am not sure whether I want to work with another GLC. Nevertheless I will think deeply within this few days ans come up with a decision.
Basically they are few other stories that I want to put into this entry but I do not have a luxury time to finish all in one entry. I will write again later.
Mean while, have a nice day friends

Born on the 4th of July
Heh Farhan, ko punya lecturer muda sgt la. Macam kita orang tak percaya ajer budak yg ajar ko. That words came from a friend of mine after a lecturer from Uniten visited his student who currently doing his industrial training at our plant.
The next day we realised that it isn't that lecturer is younger but we have gotten older by another year. Is it a state of denial or what?. Well, I do not really know if that is state of denial or something. But still, I step on real a world and I am proud that I am getting older. I spoke with one of my friend the other day and she thought that I was born in 69, same year with her. Nopppp, I am younger by three years then her but I appreciated her assumption that I am much older than I am now. Probably it shows that I am much matured la kan hehehehehehhe.
Not that folks friends of rat years isn't matured but I am still happy that I am looked older. After all, hey what the heck if I am look older. I am not affraid of getting older. At least it will remind me, time almost maghrib so I better prepare myself for days after tomorrow. And now I turn to 35 and glad that I am still healthy to breath still in this world.
Arc asked me to open YM so I did, and .......................... a lot of wishes pop me, from the tagger, from the young blogger to Makcik blogger. To all, thank you for your wish. I am happy to be friended with you guys
Luv ya all by
Lord Budak

Bridge Over Trouble Water
Few days ago I took a lesson to play some hormonics in playing guitar from my neighbour. He is good with guitar and serious in playing the string eventhough he not try to be artist or at least composer. By profession he is doctorate lecturer and teaches biodiversity in UKM.
The first lesson he taught me is how to tune the guitar right even with the aid of electronic chord frequency detector. I found the tools very helpful and I plan to get one......... One day la because the tools is quite expensive. Apparently the knot of the string isn't right and he said I could not do anything much and he suggested to me to change the string. He proposed some name but the cost is to expensive so I decided to get Martin String instead. It goes with my guitar, RM 30 string with RM320 Yamaha Guitar.
He used Gordin (baca Gordan since it was hand crafted from Canada) jumbo box guitar which cost him RM 1700......... after discount it merely RM1500 (baca cuma RM1500 aje). And the string cost him another RM 60. Its expensive knowing that it is just his hobby of playing the guitar. Well If people could buy golf club for RM 3000 a set and that RM 1500 guitar propobly justifies his hobby....... well, I reckon la kan.
So on Saturday I went to Yamaha Alamanda and get those string so that he could tune the guitar right and the string tension would not change easiliy because of poor string knot. Saturday night after he tuned the guitar we played some songs. We played Bryan Adams to Poison, From Search to Ramli Sarip and the most interesting part is, well it just only he, played most of P. Ramlees' song.
I don't really get why the heck he wanted to show me why playing P. Ramlee songs is so important. Why most of the P. Ramlee songs sound still good to our ears even after 45 years. I came to know that Azizah was P. Ramlee 1st song and he composed that song when he was just 18 yrs old. That is what the book says. I am pretty amazed.
Most of P. Ramlee songs was so harmonic that the chord fill every emotion of the composer or the singer. That is why most of his song has became master piece. The sound of the string is so mellowed that touch every soul. The flat chord and the seventh chord goes with emotion that P. Ramlee wanted to share with the people. Before this I could not manage to care the harmonic and now I am starting to appreciate it even more.
I told the Dr. that I am not really used to play flat and seventh chord and I found it hard to change between chord fast for most of P. Ramlee song. He said not to worry because the chord normally goes with the sound of the singer and how they can transpose the melody of the music to the emotion that can touch the soul of the people.
So he recommended to me to listen to (Paul) Simon and (Art) Garfunkel. He played the The Sound of Silence and Mrs. Robinson. He is true that S&G used a simple chord that synergized the low pitch and high pithch very sweetly that made their song a master piece. He gave me one "ASSIGNMENT" to look for Bridge Over Trouble Water.
So I did, yesterday I asked Arc to download the song and I listened the song from Youtube(Lagu dalam Youtube). I turn to chordie and get the chord of the song. He is true again as I read the comment from other listener that this is master class song write by simon and compose by garfunkel. Further more what made the song so emotionally attached to me is that its remind me to Joe Perantau @ Bangla. If ever we could help him when in needs.
So friends, here goes the lyrics:
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Paul Simon
When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I'll dry them all.
I'm on your side, oh, when times get rough,
And friends just can't be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.
When you're down and out, when you're on the street,
When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you.
I'll take your part, oh, when darkness comes,
And pain is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will lay me down.
Sail on silver girl, sail on by,
Your time has come to shine, all your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine, oh, if you need a friend,
I'm sailing right behind,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind,
Like a bridge over troubled water, I will ease your mind.
Amacam Bobby, lets play this song.
