A thousand kilometer journey I V (Ai Vee) has made it easy

I had laboratory last Saturday. It had not finished like I had expected earlier on. All the procedure kaput and the analysis took ages to complete it. Every single step, we got to bake the specimen for 1 hour and the lab techinician have not requested for working over time that Saturday. So the lab technician said that we can have another oppurtunity early February when the lab is open for free activity.

Thanks Allah for giving us second chance. We cannot make lab report if the specimen is kaput. The observation will be all wrong and we cannot deduce anything from the kaput experiment. During the chores, we were informed that the Sunday class has been carried forward t next Sunday. Man, I was all relieved when the class has been postponed to next week. So I can plan to travel to Jitra in the morning. Arc was pleased because she is planning to wandering Penang if not Bukit Kayu Hitam if we can reach there early.

Nevertheless, things didn't come like we had wish for. Saturday night we fetched my MIL after being called by Arc'c sibling that MIL falled at home. Initially we thought that MIL had high blood pressure that causing her to faint. We took her to An Nur Hospital saturday night for further medical check up. Doctor said that she would probably had soft stroke and advice us to take her for further medical check up. The doctor wanted to refer her to hospital Kajang but we requested her to be refered to HUKM. My mom has some experienced with HUKM and I am satisfied with their services.

Sunday morning we took MIL to HUKM. She made ECG and MRI scanning early morning and the doctor gather some information from my MIL about her activities and what had happend to her. From the consultation and the result from ECG and MRI, doctor confirmed that MIL had mild stroke. If not take action immediately can caused to casualty. We glad that we did.

The doctor has requested my MIL to be warded so that the doctor could monitor her condition. However HUKM hall all bed occupied. To my surprise, all the bed in Serdang, Kajang and Putrajaya also full. So we did not have any choice and we got to take MIL home. I requested MIL to stay at my house and relax. After everything has settle in my home and we have make arrangment for MIL, we headed to picked up my Mom, grandma and sister for Jitra.

We off to Jitra approximately 4.00pm and I thought we could be in Jitra by 9.30pm. But since the boot full of my sister's stuf, The car became heavy. So I cannot fill the petrol to full tank. I got to fill RM 30 and RM 20 ringgit to not putting weight to the car.

We pulled over at 2 RnRs for petrol and solat, we had dinner in seberang Perai and petrol again in Sungai Petani. In all we took almost 8hrs to reach to Jitra.

What made me glad to blog and merry the Joe's tag is that we can make new friends. We have not met this woman and we give our trust to her to booking a rest house for us. She infact always in contact with arc to check our where about. She and her husband waited until late night to greet and welcome us to the rest house. We feel very lucky to know IV from Joe's tag. She had prepared everything for us.

We reach to the rest house, cheap but have all the thing we want, the freezer, air cond and decent bed to sleep. IV prepared the ketle jug and provide us Milo and coffee. We have a sound sleep that night. In the Monday morning IV bought us Nasi Lemak and she herself prepared Roti Jala and Kuah Kari. Fuhhhhh, I tell you, sedapppppp. All of us like it very much. With that taste, I believe IV could operate a restaurant and become entrepreneur

If the latter we want to make gathering at the North Side, I reckon, we can make barbeque here in UUM rest House and IV probably can arrange a picnic to Kuala Nerang Water Fall.

All the hospitality offered by IV mas made our travel to Jitra a pleasant one. After registration for my sister had over, we went to shops at Bukit Kayu Hitam. IV directed us the way to Bukit Kayu Hitam and alhamdulillah we reach there in half an hour time. She make us some tapai which yet to be eaten. Hopefully my son would spare some for us.

We return to Kuala Lumpur at 7.00pm yesterday and alhamdulillah we reached home at about 1.30am. I feel so sleepy and feel like to sleep during lunch time.

TO IV and Pok Nik ( IV's husband), we would like to say thank you for making our trip to Jitra a pleasant journey and tank you for the roti jala. MEMANG SEDAPPPPPPP. To Xoxo, sorry we can't make time to meet up with you. The moment you phoned Arc, we just left Changlun Town. Probably we can have some other time to meet up. Who knows its probablay Gathering rombongan Cik Kiah ke Bukit Kayu Hitam

Ramai dalam tag tuh kaki songket musti suka menyongket kat Bukit Kayu Hitam hahahahahahah

Appraisal

New Year has just begun. I reckon its still not too late to wish everybody Happy New Year. I hope you have good life in year 2006. As challenges awaits in 2007 lets face with determination and courage with responsibility. I can see bright future ahead. Especially to the Reban Ayam Blogger. I pray Angah will settle with Wan and new loving couple, ZULANGZ will tie the knot this year. With that remark I'd like to remind Joe to prepare the ticket to NYC for ZULANGZ to honeymoon. Wakakakakakakaka ............... Deal of The Year and Joe just got to commit that wakakakakakaka.

The last 2 weeks of december last year was a hectic days of my life. I got to prepare appraisal form and appraised my staff. This is the first time 1 appraised 3 engineers and 6 technicians. Last year I only appraised 2 technicians that reporting directly to me. Being experienced appraising technician I didn't have any problem appraising my new subbordinates. However what makes thing interesting is that its much easier to appraise Engineer than technician. Engineers simply understand what corporate wants and with the guideline sets in the Appraisal Form and with KPI set to them earlier on its much easy to have discussion with engineers. They recognize the weekneases and ready to take new challenges. They made argument with fact and logic with all the information ready before coming to the appraisal discussion. This effort make discussion easier.

Its different with the technicians. Not all but majority of them is very defensive. They make mistakes and put the blame to someone else. To them they made the job perfectly good and in accord. God ......... everybody knows that we mere human beings and cannot escape from making mistake. They blame the production of not submitting the report, they blame the process engineers who had not responded to their concern and worst still they claim other shift personel of deliberately making his shift tough. But since I experienced that argument with my 2 technicians last, I have mentally prepared and I manage to take them to their reality.

Yesterday we had a meeting with our Mem Besar. She wants to check the employees distribution grade. In my place we adopt Bell Curve Distribution that have been made popular by Jack Welch. I was very fortunate that my distribution grade meeting requirement in the Bell Curve distribution and I do not have to make revision or revisiting appraisal process again with the engineers and technician. Some body else need to do revision and must complete by today, or else we will get increment late.

In my group, my Safety Engineer will fit in the top best worker and one of my technician will fit in the worst best worker. I Fit in the midle of the curve. Org biasa biasa ajer maaaaaaaaa kekekekekekeke. Dapat increment nanti pun dah alhamdulillah dah heheheheh.

Guys I'll continue another story in another entry. HAri ini mungkin publish 2 post nih. Bayar hutang balik. Nak pegi mtg dulu.

I do everything for my children

Last Sunday I took my children to Pusat Sains Negara at Bukit Kiara. Its a very interesting place to visit and the ticket considerably cheap as well, if we compare to Petrosains. The exhibition also very informative and interactive. The only lacking is just that some of the exhibit is not well maintain. Well, its probably Sunday and they didn't have people to fix the problem for that particular exhibits.

However, above all everything just great. At the entrance they put a model that shows how tsunami hits the shore. Kids can generally understand how tsunami hits the shore by interacting with the model. This model is similar to what I see in the documentary about tsunami by NHK after the 2004 tsunami in Acheh. Surround the model they are ponds with rock gardens and the ponds are made of glasses. Nevertheless my children could not manage to care with the fish. I found its rather fascinating with the rock garden and water fountain and the japanese carps.

In Pusat Sains Negara, we also can see an aquarium with a tunnel whereby people can walk underneath them. This aquarium contains fresh water fish and I tell you the fishes are big. My children were lucky to see two divers fed fishes with bread in the water. Liyana kind of in bewilderment to see people dives in the water doning the mask and oxygen tank. She scared too with the diver.

The exhibition hall were separeted into several science finding. If I were to telling story everything, I don't know when I can complete this entry. Its an awsome place to visit and very educational trip for the children. And I'd like to tell everybody how important to get near to your children and take the oppurtunity to explain what are that all about. Some children, they just like wandering in the exhibition building some want to learn about science and frankly I can see most of them like to playing with the exhibits. They do not actually understand how to relate that exhibits in reality life. So its our responsibility to explain to our children what are that for. They are not meant for toy. They are exhibits for learning. We spent three hours in Pusat Sains Negara.

I would reccomend this place to be visited at least once a year. Science changes every day and I reckon they will improve the exhibitions every now and then.

Then on Wednesday and Thursday I had a two days Research and Development Symposium in Sunway Resort Hotel. Many knows that my technical paper were accepted for final oral presentation. The grand price is RM 3K. Like I have already mentioned earlier on, I don't really care for winning as I know that the other presenter are better than me. The winner of the RnD Symposium was an Arabs who improve mathematical model with Fast Fourier Transform in designing the circuit and transistor for wafer fabrication. I just took the symposium as a platform to introduce myself to the senior management and I am very glad some have noticed us now. I got consolation price that evening and makan makan ........................ huh lebih hebat aku makan dari bersimposium kekekekekeke. Other than that we can cuci mata tengok Miss Tourism from all over the world. Yang macam Altantunya sebijik pun ada pakai selempang Mongolia. Is She a ghost? ............ siap la ko budak.

On Saturday emmmmmmmm as usual on school holidays, kenduri kawen memanjang. But after kenduri Azfar circumcise. On Friday I tried to book time with doctor. The doctor wanted to set the appointment in the morning. I told him that Azfar is still in Ulu Langat and I wanted to go to wedding reception. I would probably arrive home after Zohor. Banyak songeh kan aku. To my supprise, the doctor suggested to me that he can do the circumcision in my house. I'll be glad I replied. By the way, I got new neighbour live next door to me and he is the doctor. So on Saturday after Zohor, the doctor came with his assistant and the circumcision start at about 3.30pm.

Azfar was a brave kid. He is very relax when the doctar start the procedure. He is calm and that help the doctor. By 3.45pm, the procedure completed. And now Azfar has became a gentleman.

Over the weekend we bought him Sahibba. So he could fill his time playing that with his sister and his bibik kekekekeke. Last night I fixed his computer so that he has some entertainment besides Sahibba.
